The legendary pool also isn't broad enough to make up for the loss of skillrunes either Upheaval only has one legendary aspect that engages with it beyond a generic "Core Skill gets buffed" interaction, which requires Call of the Ancients on your bars to use it in the first place. Nightmare Dungeons are good enough, but feel like they're not leveraging all the dungeons the game has to the fullest. It feels like a very Diablo 3 build and I've been enjoying it up to level 70 where the WT4 monster scaling is starting to create problems until my equipment catches up. Instead I'm using a HOTA build using Perpetual Stomping as the big resource engine between Kick, Ground Stomp and occasionally Wrath of the Berserker driving things. I also haven't been using the popular triple-shout build because I don't want to. I'm still waiting for the first season to hit before I make a Druid, but my Barbarian has been a pretty good time so far. Diablo 3 without the set stat gains becomes a different beast entirely.I like it enough. If the power creep gets really out of hand that'd be the only way to reset it that I can think of.Ī Season Without Sets would be an interesting mess, too. It'd knock everyone down a notch without singling out any individual class or build. The flip side would be to have a season where all enemies get buffed, and just call it the Season of Torment or something. So Blizzard opts to go with a little power creep rather than the bad will that a real nerf would bring.

If someone spent all season pushing a build as close to perfection as possible and then Blizzard knocked a chunk of that power off, that person would be justifiably pissed. Nerfing the current standout sets gets the same thing accomplished, but it's also sort of a slap in the face to people who took the time to develop those sets. Buffing up lesser used sets its a good way to try to get them in play.
